It’s one thing to have someone steal your money but what if he or she committed crimes using your name? What if they used your identity when they were arrested? Even if the police discover who they really are your identity will still be considered to be an alias and tied to the crimes and criminal record. How does this affect you when it comes to getting a job? If a company ran a background check they would find your fraudulent criminal record and would most likely reject you because of it.
